This started with one of our Nest Hubs a few weeks ago and now is occurring on two of them. Each night, around 3:00 -3:30 am I think, the weather data that is displayed on the fullscreen clock on two of our Nest Hubs disappears. When this first started occurring, I was able to restore it by selecting a different clock face and then returning to the Weather clock face. Now, it will occasionally restore by just opening the Google Home app, or by visiting the Photo Frame setting. Usually, however, I have to reboot the Nest Hub in the Google Home app.
This does not affect any of the other functionality of either Nest Hub. They still always have Internet connectivity and you can get Google results at any time. They can be accessed from the Google Home app. In fact, you can ask it for the weather and it immediately returns results, but the weather data on the fullscreen weather clock face still shows no temperature, clear, and sunny regardless of the actual weather.
If I had to guess, I'd say that some sort of function gets performed on Google Nest Hubs around 3:00-3:30 am each night, and this function has a bug in it. I have noticed a couple of times that our Nest Hub Max sometimes reboots on its own around this time.

Hey everyone,
I know it's been a while since this thread has been updated with any new information and I apologize for the lack of response here.
So far, unfortunately I have nothing new to share. The frustration you feel from not having a resolution or just even more information on what's happening is understandable and justified. I'm sharing the same frustration with you because you're still experiencing this issue and I know how inconvenient it has been.
I know the team has been working through this issue and I'll be checking in with them this week to see if there any updates or progress regarding this so I can give you some valuable information. I'll ensure to follow up with you before the ending of the week to let you know if I have any updates or not.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi MplsCustomer,
Thanks for posting.
I appreciate all the details you've shared. Since you have tried changing the clock face and result is still the same, have you already tried performing a complete reset to your speakers? Also, could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Nest displays so we can check further?
To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:
Keep me posted.

Princess

I have NOT performed a complete reset because it's now occurring on two of our four Nest Hubs. All four have a System Firmware Version of 6.20211109.1.3166240. Three of our four Nest Hubs are set to display the Weather clock face. The two Nest Hubs where the weather data disappears around 3 am every night have a Cast Firmware Version of 1.60.305621; the third Nest Hub, where the weather data does NOT disappear, has a Cast Firmware Version of 1.56.290464.
In looking back at my notes on another issue, this bug appeared on the first Nest Hub that was on Cast Firmware Version of 1.60.305621. Now that another Nest Hub has upgraded to Cast Firmware Version of 1.60.305621, that one too is losing the temperature setting overnight.
It seems quite possible that this is a defect introduced by Cast Firmware Version 1.60.305621. If it shows up when our third Nest Hub upgrades to Cast Firmware Version of 1.60.305621, that will confirm it.
This morning, simply opening the Google Home app restored the weather data on the two misbehaving Nest Hubs. More often than not, I have to do a reboot in the Google Home app.

Hi everyone,
I appreciate all the details you've shared. I'd be glad to check with the team what's the reason behind this. Meanwhile, can anyone send a photo of the exact display that you're getting?
Lastly, since you have multiple Google Nest display, let's try to reset one display in comparison to others so we can see if there would be any changes after the reset.
Keep me posted.

Princess

Frankly, I don't think it's worth the hassle of doing a factory reset on one of the Nest Nubs. Another customer tried that and it didn't resolve the problem.
As I've reported, the problem started after one of our Nest Hubs upgraded to Cast Firmware Version 1.60.305621. When a second Nest Nub upgraded to Cast Firmware Version 1.60.305621, it too began to lose its weather info overnight. Our third Nest Hub, which is still on Cast Firmware Version 1.56.290464, continues to work fine.
I'll try to capture a screen shot. This morning, the temperature was 72 degrees Fahrenheit and was partly cloudy, but two of our Nest Hubs displayed a sun symbol (instead of a partly cloudy symbol), dashes instead of the temperature, and "Clear" instead of "Partly cloudy". The third Nest Hub, the one on Cast Firmware Version 1.56.290464, displayed a party cloudy symbol, 72 degrees, and "Partly cloudy". And simply opening the Google Nest Hub restored the weather data on the two misbehaving Nest Hubs.

I too have found that clicking on the hub with in the Google Home app will restore back to normal. So far that has worked several times, but still very annoying bug.
I agree factory resetting all the hubs in the house is not a very desirable solution. Especially since others have done so with no fix. Clearly there is an issue with the software that needs to be addressed.
08-29-2022 03:46 AM
I did a full factory reset last week either 8-22-2022 or 8-23-2022. it resolved the issue but the issue reappeared again 8-26-2022. I agree that additional factory resets are not productive at this point.
09-21-2022 03:35 PM
Same issue here. Sometimes opening the home app fixes it. Unplugging it and plugging it back in temporarily fixes it. The problem is def on Google's end if we are all experiencing this.
08-02-2022 07:34 AM
I am experiencing the same issue, and while retrieving the cast firmware information (1.60.305621), the weather info reappeared. I'm using the "weather frog" fullscreen display, and the background graphic changed to reflect the weather information as well as displaying the temperature and AQI data upon connecting to the device from the home app.
I have seven devices on my network, three of which are nest hubs of various generations, and this is (as far as I'm aware) the only one it happens on.
The other devices' firmware versions are: 1.56.290464 and 1.60.305621
07-06-2022 09:33 AM
I have experienced similar issue on Nest Hub (gen 1). I have not noticed that it happens during a particular time of day.
In addition to what OP described, the top menu items disappear and only "Curated art" shown when swiping left. Also the app shortcuts when swiping up from bottom disappear.
This started a month or so ago on one of my 3 hubs (all gen1). The hub was the first to get update that included the app shortcuts. The other two hubs were fine with older firmware. Only fix for me has been to unplug and reboot the hub.
In the last week my other two hubs received the 6.20211109.1.3166240 firmware that now includes app shortcuts. And now these two hubs have the same behavior and need to be rebooted every day or so.
Given this has affected all three of my hubs, there must be a lot of people experiencing this problem.
This is a very annoying issue.
07-10-2022 04:25 PM
Ditto. Very annoying. I performed a factory reset that seemed to fix it for a day or two, then back to the same behavior. Nest Hub 2. Any way to role back firmware?
07-13-2022 07:19 AM
You asked for a screen shot, so here is a screen shot of one of our Nest Hubs this morning with missing weather data, and another screen shot after rebooting the Nest Hub. This morning I only had to reboot one of them. Yesterday, just opening the Google Home app restored the missing weather data on both hubs.

The weather issue seems rather wide spread. It would be nice if a fix was posted to this thread so all could share the fix.
08-20-2022 12:24 PM
Done.
07-14-2022 07:55 AM
This morning, the weather data disappeared from the weather clockface for one of our Nest Hubs between 4:30 am and 5:30 am; starting the Google Home app caused it to reappear. Weather data did NOT disappear from the weather clockface for the other Nest Hub.

I am also having this same issue with my gen 1. I have factory reset it and still have the same issue.
Next steps?
07-17-2022 10:25 PM
Same Here. Open the Home App fix the problem for one day. But that cannot be the solution.
07-18-2022 11:24 AM
07-21-2022 03:14 PM
@Princess When can I expect to hear back with a solution? Have heard nothing at this time. With several people reporting the same issue, surely there is a readily available solution. Thanks
07-19-2022 01:54 PM
Both of my nest hubs are now doing the same thing, except the only menu item it shows is the clock.
07-20-2022 04:11 AM
Same here with a gen 1. Happens about 3 times a week first thing in the morning. Menu items also disappear but opening the Home app restores everything. This has coincided with a recent software update which is obviously the root cause. There is also a Reddit thread full of complaints about the same issue.
On the plus side I had an issue with the previous update whereby the night clock didn't always activate, this appears to now be fixed.

Why would you lock this thread when other customers are reporting this same problem (just yesterday), and when Google Nest is "currently investigating and working for a fix"?

A couple of weeks ago I got a notification on my phone from Google advising me to touch the right side of my nest hub screen to access the menus. Ever since I got that notification the display occasionally freezes the temperature disappears from the screen and clicking the menu only produces a menu for the clock. Rebooting the device fixes it. Voice home control still works.
I will attempt to upload a couple of pictures to show what is happening
07-19-2022 07:14 AM
Some of us have been seeing missing temperature data since our Nest Hubs were upgraded to a Cast Firmware Version of 1.60.305621; see this thread: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Weather-data-on-2-Nest-Hub-fullscreen-c...
