My CCwGTV 4K received the latest update UTTC.241218.004, now I have Android 14.
This update broke playback of direct live TV stream in all the apps. It looks that all the h.264 FullHD streams are affected. The playback is like slow motion with judder and audio out of sync. All these apps worked perfectly fine before the update. Many users report the same (Reddit).
Source is DVB-C, TS stream from my cable TV provider.
Is this a known problem from Google's side? All the devices still on Android 12 are perfect.

Settings - system - Google - system update - turn it off

Having followed this issue for exactly a year now, I think it looks like we finally have a robust solution with the Strong Leap S3 Pro (or similar ATV12 devices) . Thank you @PeterParker222. I don't remember seeing the option to turn off automatic updates on the CCWGTV. Does this option only appear on non-Google manufactured boxes?

Still Nothing?

Solved with a cheap Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4K 2nd Gen Android 14 .
Running TV Headend Server on a 6 year old box with LibreElec software.
Kodi with TV Headend client addon.
Waste of time waiting for a fix from these clowns.

How can deinterlacing be working for you when it is not supported by ATV14?
It's not an Android 14 OS problem.
It's a Google software implementation of software incompatible with hardware.
I only received the MI TV stick today and it's working flawlessly

Interesting. It has been understood here for several months that it is an ATV14 issue. From my own experience I have tested a GTV14 Streamer and a CCWGTV HD, both on ATV14, the latter having automatically updated to ATV14 from ATV12, and deinterlacing is not working at all. Would it be possible for you to test on Tivimate? A lot of us use Tivimate as the client app for our HDHomerun/Tuner card-TVHeadend setups. Is your TVHeadend server receiving interlaced DVB-T2, 1080i25?

In Australia 1920×1080 or 1440×1080 in an interlaced format it running at 50 fields per second.
Had a quick look at TiviMate after downloading it to the Mi stick. Couldn't connect to my TvHeadend server. Gave up.

I have verified with Xiaomi TV Box Gen3 device (Android 14 and the latest security patch installed) that Kodi + Tvheadend is working 100% fine. The very same setup on Google Chromecast with Android TV 4K is broken: the video and audio is out-of-sync and the video is stuttering so much that it's completely unwatchable (it was working on Android 12, but not on Android 14 anymore). So my assumption is that it's not specifically Andoird 14 related issue, but Google Chromecast issue instead.

The problem comes from the video decoding hardware as it only happens on some device. Probably updated driver/microcode for this Chipset brought this mess.

It is now 12 months since this was raised with Google. Just buy an ATV12 box and turn off automatic updates.

And how can I deactivate this on the Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270
I still have Android 12 on the box and I really want to keep it that way

Interlaced videos are working fine for me on GTV Streamer with GTV14 and a Philips TV with GTV14 but not working on CCwGTV with GTV14 ... seems like it is device specific .. 😞

Could be, but if they fail to fix this and transparently communicate, I will not buy any Google hardware anymore.

So some ATV14 devices are deinterlacing fine? It might be useful if we can build up a list.
ATV14 devices reported as working:
- Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd gen) (@K70 mentioned minor audio sync issue but it was also evident on CCWGTV ATV12)
- Xiaomi TV Stick 4k (2nd gen) (@Kostaman)
- Google TV Streamer 4k (I was not aware that this was fixed, @Pierreh says yes!)
- Philips TV (@Pierreh model?)
Any others?

I can confirm that on new Xiaomi Stick (gen 2) with Android 14, everything works perfectly smooth (tested on smart IPTV app),on Chromecast even YouTube was lagging . After a couple of months of waiting for the resolution of the bug I decided to sell the device, for the price that was enough to buy brand new stick, and I am happy with this decision, if you are frustrated, that's the easiest fix

Here are recorded samples from a dvb-t broadcast.

Try to play those with ANY player on CCwGTV Android 14, it will play half speed with sound at correct speed.

"Interlaced videos still don't work after the update. tvmate switches from 50 fps where the channels are broadcasting to 30 fps or 60 fps; the sound comes before the picture."
yesterday
I've just tested one channel in tvimate that was not working before the update (broken sound sync) and it now works. I can't right now but I'll test things further when I get home.

Test the channel that sends 1080i
For your information, I have a Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270
