In the "For you" section, it gives the message, "Loading error. Unable to load For you"
I have:
Everything else works correctly, including streaming. The only problem is this "For you" section.

I have a new TV out of the box on Friday. After setting it up and receiving a software update, it now displays Loading error. Unable to load Home. Retry.

Same on my Chromecast with google tv 4K, no update and keeps giving the Loading Error. same on the Google TV app on my Samsung S24 Ultra, when will this be acknowledged and fixed?

Yeah the update fixed it for maybe a day and then apparently borked it for the entire world, even problems with the mobile app which wasn't affected before.

Nothing was fixed, I still get the "loading error, unable to poad home". Now I am stuck with this issue. Very frustrating. I may return the device.

Two (2) Chromecast w/ Google TV devices - most recent system update received today, both devices now have the "Loading error. Unable to load For you" issue. Also effecting Live tab and not showing Library content for my account. Android TV OS Version 12, Build = STTL.240508.005, Security patch level = June 1, 2024
A cynical person may think this is Google's way of nudging Chromecast users to upgrade to Google TV Streamer (4K) ...

2 year old Sony Bravia XR X90J with Google TV built-in broken with this update and not fixed by factory erase / reset or uninstall of recent Google TV update from Settings > Apps > System Apps

I worked for a day and a half for me, and now it doesn't work and the Android phone app is broken as well for me. I can still use my wife's account without problem, but obviously not ideal in any way.
Turning off Web & App Activity didn't work this time around. Nor did clearing cache.

Just checked the Android phone app and it's working again for me, showing all the right content.
I uninstalled it last night and then reinstalled it, but it didn't work then. Not sure if that did it but it needed time, or this is a temporary fluke.
I'll check my TVs soon and see if they are showing anything different yet.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. The "update" only caused this screen to appear today. It was working fine since this problem was reported up until today.

Same issue as everyone else. I even reset my tv to factory setting. Funny thing is that it happened to me after the supposed patch was to be released on 8/16/2024. Very frustrating, it seems these chromecasts don't last more than 6 months or so before developing a problem or the other.

Just happened to me today (Aug 17) on a Onn Google TV. I ended up factory resetting, and it's even worse. No Live or anything now, either. What a horrible ness.

After spending a few hours reinstalling everything, it can't make up it's mind. For You did briefly work. Live has a guide, but I cannot arrow down into it, or it totally disappears. Library briefly had empty boxes. Connected services for the user account once listed my services, but then went back to unable to load page. I stupidly tried a restart to see if it would clear things up. For you disappeared, live disappeared, then came back, even adding apps disappeared for awhile! The Google Live TV app was giving a channel error, but later started working.

Just checked this morning (8/18) and it seems to be almost fixed. After hitting Retry again, it did load the For You screen, and it has all the multiple rows (when it briefly worked yesterday, there was only one.) Late last night, the Live tab did start working, and is still working. Library is still blank. Connected services for the user account now lists my services.

Hello - 8/18/2024 Chromecast Google TV is now loading and no error on all TV. I did not had to do anything. It is just fixed. Hope it stays that way.

First, thank you to everyone who contributed information and escalation details about this issue. Obviously, the weight of the complaints by the masses encouraged Google to finally get involved and attempt a fix. So thank you Google for finally responding and attempting to resolve. That said, how disappointing it is that the update seems to, at best, only temporarily fix the issue for some and, at the worst, CAUSED the issue to occur for many more. SMH

I would bet the competition would have an All Staff hands on deck call to get this fixed or rolled back asap. Guess google does things whenever they feel like it.

For what it’s worth, all functions on all three of my Google TV with Chromecast devices were fixed on 8/16/2024 and continue to function today (8/18/2024).

Same issue. I deleted data and cache in Google TV and TV storage apps, restarted. Didn't work. I reset the chromecast. Didn't work. I signed out of my chromecast and signed back in. Didn't work. I factory reset my chromecast. Didn't work. I checked my other chromecast in a different room. Same problem. I did all of the above (except Factory reset it) to my second Chromecast. Didn't work. I'm pretty pissed at this point.
This just started happening early this afternoon 8/17. Google we need some support here.

Both of ours are working again now. Still a bit glitchy. Max still doesn't start on one of the two Chromecasts. gonna uninstall and reinstall.

Same/similar issue. Since today's 'update', pressing the Home button on the remote results in a screen showing "For you", "Apps", "Library" at the top and a message "Loading error" on the screen. Under this message it says "Unable to load For you" (yes, the F in 'For' is uppercase) & a "Retry" button. At the bottom of the screen is the horizontal list of my installed apps.
Clicking on "For you" highlights the "Retry" button which, when clicked, does nothing and I have to click the "Home" button in my remote to return the cursor to the "For you" button at the top of the screen.
Toggling to the "Apps" button activates the apps page (without clicking on the button first) which seems to be the only working function on this page.
Toggling to the "Library button highlights the "Library" button & produces a blank screen but does nothing.
