Yesterday I was able to cast to Chromecast from my Samsung Galaxy S22 (although it was starting to get slower and slower to connect). Today, no such luck. I did a factory reset on the Chromecast device. I tried 2 ghz and 5 ghz wifi connections on my phone. Nothing works - I can't get past the Welcome screen on my TV. I followed the instruction to perform the setup, which didn't work.
In the Home app, I keep getting messages saying my Chromecast can't be discovered. First message I get on the Home app says "Chromecast found. Would you like to set up Chromecast55399?" Next screen says it's connecting to Chromecast, but after 5-10 minutes a messaged box appears saying: "Could not communicate with your Chromecast."
So, what's the deal? It communicated just fine leading up to yesterday when it started getting worse and worse - what has changed?

The "Could not communicate with your Chromecast" message means something is preventing your phone from talking to your Chromecast properly. Try these steps: You may already have tried some of these steps but I'll link to them in full:

Thanks for responding to my question. Before I had a chance to try your suggestions, Chromecast started working again. Here's what I think happened: When I did a factory reset of the Chromecast device, whatever updates that were done didn't take effect until a cycle had completed (one day). Once a day had passed, I was able to connect to the device like I had always been able to do. Again, thanks anyway.

I am experiencing an issue with my chromecast I have done all of the above but nothing has worked. I get the message that my Google home app has connected then on the tv it states not connected to the WiFi. So frustrating

Did you see my last post? Did you factory reset the Chromecast? If you did, it may take overnight for it to become operational again. Good luck!
