So I just got my Google TV Streamer, and I'm trying to set it up with a Samsung Q950A soundbar. The issue is that the volume control only works to increase the volume, not to decrease it. My old Chromecast 4K can control the soundbar just fine, and so can the LG OLED TV it's also connected to, but some other Android TV boxes fail the same way. I'm not entirely sure what is going wrong here.

This works, but the remote is set up as IR, not as CEC, which is inconvenient. I've actually found the cause of the issue, and reported it on the issue tracker: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/375959959

Also, here's someone reporting that some Nvidia Shield specific setting helped them: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/comments/emnw37/nvidia_shield_pro_cec_volume_control_issues...
Unfortunately, no such setting on the GTV Streamer.

Hi K900,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that the volume decrease isn't working properly with your Google TV Streamer (4K) on your Samsung Q950A soundbar. I understand how frustrating this must be. I'm here to help.
For further assistance, please do the following:
Important: You must point the remote at the device for the volume buttons to work. The remote won't be able to control the volume of some devices and/or models.
Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.
Regards,
Byron
