Hello, Welcome to the Chromecast Help Community

Try each of the following before moving on to the next:
  • Turn your iOS device OFF and back ON
  • Are you using the Google Home app that replaced the Chromecast app?
  • Are your Apple devices on current Minimum system requirement?
  • Turn on Bluetooth:
    1. On the home screen, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
    2. Make sure the slider is On (toggled to the right and green).
    3. Close out of Settings and return to the Google Home app.
  • Reboot your router
  • Make sure you power the Chromecast device with the provided power supply into an open electrical outlet, not using a USB input on your TV or other device.
  • Make sure your Chromecast device is plugged into a HDMI input that is not labeled as ARC or DVI.
Unfortunately, any dongles, adapters and devices between Chromecast and the TV are unsupported so your use may vary.
  • Check your Apple Wifi settings
  • Can't establish Wifi connection to Chromecast. Please try 5 common troubleshooting steps to resolve connectivity issues with your Chromecast.
  • Your Apple device, Chromecast device and Wi-Fi Router should be within ~15 feet (4 meters) of each other.
  • Reboot Google Home app on your Apple device > tap on Devices  > tap the Cog Wheel > tap on the three stacked dots in the top right corner > tap Reboot
  • Conduct a factory data reset on your Chromecast device.
  • Try Chromecast on the SAME 2.4 (Chromecast 1st gen requirement) Ghz frequency wifi router band as your iOS devices
  • See original post by Google employee about other settings.

Hey there AG,

No problem, we can try some more steps to help you out, let me just ask you some questions to better understand what's happening:

  • When did the issue first start happening?
  • Do you have a dual-band router? (2.4GHz and 5GHz)
  • Are you using the recommended router settings

I would also recommend you check out and follow the steps in this article. It fixes a lot of common Chromecast connection issues. If you had any more questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran
