Change your date in your phone to before the issue began. It allows you to update. Once back updated you can change your date back to todays date

Where do I change the date?
03-15-2025 01:46 AM
You have to change the date in your Phone to 8 march for example. Then configure your chromecast again and let it in wifi status and wait for Google update.
03-15-2025 06:46 AM
How do i change date in my phone
03-15-2025 02:17 AM
In the phone settings
03-15-2025 02:32 AM

Too late, I already factory reset my device and I'm UTTERLY angry at this. You have no idea on how impacted I was since I work with cinema distribution and work watching the titles in order to nationalise them, it's hard to watch a feature from computer screen! I truly hope you guys can be more didactic on your communications about your bugs, bear in mind not everyone understands well terms and stuff from tech niche as majority of people nowadays especially those ones who buy your stuff. I'm deeply disappointed at Google right now. Feel like a stupid.
I'll be waiting for the fix instructions for those who decided to factory reset, just hole it won't be a sphinx's enigma!

Try this: On your phone manually change the date and set it to march 8 (prior to the issue). After that use the Home app, and in devices use the key add +, it will look for your chromecast, if it finds it (normally it does with this procedure) I advise to enter your WiFi password manually, and answer "not at this time " to the other questions, it should connect the Chromecast to your wifi. As soon as you see the clock back on your TV screen, it means it is online. Then is a matter of time to receive the patch. Today march 14 many users have reported they have already received the update. Leave the Chromecast on and wait since it can take some time. I advise to unplug and plug it back after 30 minutes if it has not been updated automatically, in order to force the update. Good luck
