When doorbell is pressed, I get a message on all hub devices that 'camera feed is not available'

It's been working absolutely fine for me for almost 2 years and suddenly I get this message as attached in the image, everytime the doorbell is pressed. I tried every trick, nothing helps resolve it. I can access the stream easily by asking Google to show me front door, so there is no problem with the stream.

Thanks for sharing your reports with us. We have an update for you: we've rolled out a fix that should resolve this issue for most users. The next time someone rings your doorbell, please confirm that your Nest Hub displays your camera feed.

Keep in mind, there is a small number of users who haven't received a fix yet. Rest assured we're on top of it, and we'll be sharing updates here in the community. Thanks for your patience!

I have the subscription service. So don't think it could be that. Maybe Google have done something on their side or a bug.

This started happening to us yesterday with all three of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells on all four of our Nest Hubs and our Nest Hub Max. Our speakers announce that the doorbell has been pressed, but says camera feed is not available.

This is also being reported on these threads; users on several report they've talked to Google Support, who is aware of the issue, and the issue is "in engineering":

I have a wired nest doorbell that no longer shows video on my 3 nest hubs when the doorbell is pressed. It rings and says "Someone is at the door" but says video unavailable with a white screen. I can see the live feed in my Home app as well as my nest app. I can also tell the hub to show the live feed and it will pull it up. It just shows nothing when the doorbell is pressed. I've restarted my router and also turned off the Indoor Chime setting like someone else suggested but nothing works. It worked fine for several years until the last few weeks. I have a strong wifi signal as well and nothing has changed. What is causing this? I know the Home app has had serious upgrades lately and I'm wondering if a recent Hub update has caused this problem.

This sounds like the defect that was introduced earlier this week and--according to other posts--is known to Google Nest Support, but is not yet fixed. We reported it earlier this week via "feedback" on one of our Nest Hubs.

We first noticed it on Tuesday, July 25, when ALL of our Nest Hubs and Nest Hub Max started reporting "someone's at the ...door" but displaying "camera feed is not available" when the doorbell button is pressed for ANY of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells. But if we clear the screen we can immediately stream the doorbell's camera.

@MplsCustomer Thanks for the info and reply.  Since its a known issue I'll just wait and see if they fix it with an update. I definitely didn't want to go through the hassle of factory resets and removal/reinstall. 

do not waste your time with resets or new homes or structures. is exactly the same upon rebuild.

Ik heb sedert enige dagen hetzelfde probleem, ik heb nu een nieuwe Nest Hello gekocht en de oude vervangen daar ik dacht dat de interne batterij stuk was wat het uitvallen van de wifi kan veroorzaken, iets wat ik in een post op het internet gelezen heb, maar ook met de nieuwe Hello krijg ik geen beeld op de hub's enkel de mededeling dat er iemand voor de deur staat en dat de camera ofline is. Via de Nest app of de home app kan ik de camera gewoon zien.

I've been having the same problem for a few days, I've now bought a new Nest Hello and replaced the old one as I thought the internal battery was broken which could cause the wifi to drop out, something I read in a post on the internet, but even with the new Hello I get no image on the hubs, only the message that someone is at the door and that the camera is offline. I can just see the camera via the Nest app or the home app.

the problem started for me after both my hubs updated the firmware. 3rd party cameras got fixed and google broke its own in the process

 

there's no response from support on my ticket and the chatbot liar robots on here haven't reacted to my own thread either

my alexa echo show works perfectly

the keyword GHT3 is being spaced to "g h t 3" will that still work?

I don't know.  When I did it, our Nest Hub spaced it as "GHT 3".

@MplsCustomer Mine spaced it out that way as well. I sent it anyway

the sheer contempt google shows for us after stealing our money is really starting to get to me. all the chatbots and selected individuals who 100% defo do not work for google but have a job somewhere else that pays to post here 24/7 arer eally starting to get to me

Hoped this issue would be fixed by now. I bought the hub so i could direct see who is at the door, now i need a second command to show the camera feed. When the camera feed is shown now, the caller has almost left.

We have been using the same Nest Doorbell (wired) with the same 2 Nest Home Hubs for at least a year or two but recently, the camera video feed stopped showing on either of the displays.  The chime still comes through to both but no video (Camera Feed is not available shows on the screens).  The video is fine on the iPhone and iPad apps.  I have tried pretty much everything I could find online to resolve but nothing helped including creating a complete different area, deleting everything from the first one, factory resetting all devices and adding them back to that new area.  Still get the same results.  Oh and the only thing I know we change external from this issue was our wifi IP address range. We used to use 172.17.x.x and now we use 10.60.x.x.  Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Video feed from nest Hello no longer appears on all nest hub devices when the doorbell is pressed. This was working since I purchased the doorbell s couple years ago and stopped working around 1 week ago. 

Device notifications on my pixel still show the video feed when someone presses the doorbell. 

 

Already tried to re-add my nest hub as well as reconfigure wifi on my doorbell

Same here for a few weeks now. First our back door Nest doorbell camera did not show anymore on the Google Nest Hubs and now for some days the same problem with the front doorbell camera.
Within the Nest or google Home app both cameras are still visible.

  • Is anything already known? doorbell is unusable in this way. If the problem is known to Google/Nest you would expect this to be resolved quickly.

For a few days now when someone rings our Nest Doorbell. I get the "camera feed is not available" error on my Nest Hub. This always worked fine and I cannot get it to work. We have a few Nest Hubs in the house and all of them show the error.

I can navigate to the camera/doorbell in the Hub/app and everything and live footage is working fine. The error is only shown when some one rings our doorbell.

Did anything changed after an update or something?

Oh my thanks for posting this because the same thing JUST started happening to me yesterday!! I can see the Doorbell video after someone rings it on my phone but it stopped showing on the living room nest. It's just strange because it says no feed and I can see it on my phone. I am not sure if the issue is in the Doorbell or the nest...uggg

Im having exactly the same error. Working fine except when the doorbell is rung the nest hub says the camera isn’t available. It’s only done it for around a week.

Hi

I am fully aware others have created posts with exactly the same issue, however Google 'Bots' just close the issue with no resolution offered after the usual spew of "Reset the device" and "Reset everything" or "Fill out this form and we'll investigate".

So, both my home displays have suddenly stopped showing the camera feed from my doorbell and display the message "Camera Feed Is Not Available" after notifying me someone is at the door.

All devices are on the same network, camera feed works on phones. Tried disabling and re-enabling visitor notifications. Powered off and on the doorbell (wired power).  All to no avail

Anyone had any luck with resolving this issue which seems to be randomly appearing on peoples systems for the past two years ?

Tried reboot my routers/Nest hubs. Turning off/on visitor announcements. Did not help

It really is starting to feel like Google "Smart" home devices are fast becoming a poor relation to what Amazon offers. Especially in terms of actually effective support
