Nest protect won’t connect to TPLink- mr6400

I am trying to connect my protect smoke alarm to a TP link router model MR6400 v.2. Whatever I do I get error p009 (0.80). I have tried a different router which I borrowed and it works with the same service provider. And apparently the same settings??
can someone please help or advise the exact settings needed for this router or indeed specific instructions how to open the port as recommended, I’ve tried but not sure I did it correctly. I have no clue about this sort of things.. I’ve tried so far the following:

- updating router firmware

- setting a new profile to have ipv6 and ipv4

- set the lease time to 400 minutes

- taken off firewall for connection

- factory reset router and smoke alarm a million times.
- ensured internet is 2.4ghz

Hello kklouisekk,

I understand if you can't add your Nest Protect to your Nest App and I appreciate you sharing the steps you've tried to resolve this issue.

Give these steps a try:

  • Place all your Nest Protects on the table next to each other and near the Wifi router. Make sure that there's a pulsing blue light during setup indicating that it's ready to be set up.
  • Perform a reset to factory default on your Nest Protect and reinstall your Nest App.
  • While pairing they should have a blue light pulsing, indicating that they are ready to be set up. If not, just press it one time.

Let us know how it goes.

Emerson

Thanks,
