I need a replacement back plate for my Google Nest Protect 2nd Generation Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Wired) but they are not available anywhere to buy. Please can you send me one?
I am in the same boat. I spoke to a Google sales rep, but that was a quick dead end. I searched on eBay but nothing. I even tried getting it 3D printed. It’s hard to believe that it’s this difficult to replace. Is this the case with all other Nest products??
Same thing. Customer service told me to buy from nearest Google store or 3d party. Google store says they don't sell it and can't find a 3d party. Sadly, I invested in 7 of these Nests and now they are totally worthless to me. Terrible customer service. I'm so disappointed with Google. I don't mind paying for the replacements, but please make it possible for me to do so.
Admittedly all of mine are out of warranty, but the issue is they have more than six years left before their expiration date, it’s a significant investment and the system is useless because Google has made absolutely no provision for allowing people to purchase these cheap, but necessary parts. That’s just stupid and not very customer-friendly. It’s as if they want people to reinvest in a whole new system to support their bottom line.
