Free nest power connector

talktoahuman

Hello,

I was told I could get a free nest power connector for my devices because I do not have a C common wire coming to my thermostats.  I have 3 thermostats, so I would need 3 nest power connectors, I believe.  Unless it is possible to hook up one nest power connector to 3 zone relays (my guess is no).  How do I get these 3 free nest power connectors?  Thank you.

@talktoahuman , you would need a Nest Power Adapter for each of your Nest Thermostats.  Out of curiosity, there is no unused conductor wire in your thermostat cable?

Hi Cooling Wizard,

Thank you for the response.  Ok, so I would need 3 of these.  Do you know how long the wires are to it?  I’d probably have to mount them outside the relay box.  There really is no space inside the relay box for them.  Yes, I only have an 18/2 cable running to the thermostats, so no 3rd wire.  Wish I had one though.  I suppose I could run a c cable to each one, but seems like a pain in the butt.  Thank you for your response.

Also, do you know how I would go about getting those for free?  I seem to have heard that Google will give them to you for free if you have the nests, but I haven’t been able to find a link.  I’ve also heard they only give you one.  Perhaps you are in the know. Thanks again.

@talktoahuman , I do not know how you go about getting the Nest Power Connector.  Typically the Nest Power Connector is mounted inside the air handler/furnace.  If you have zone controlled system they are mounted on the zone controller.  The wires on the power connector are fairly long.  Each individual Nest Thermostat that you register with Google Nest, is entitled to a Nest Power Connector when requested in the first 30-days of ownership registration.  Contact Nest customer service and provide each thermostat model and serial number and explain to them your system does have a C wire and you need your advertised free Nest Power Connectors.

How did you get your free  power connectors?

I called Google customer service and they sent me 1 nest power connector.  I told them I had 3 nests I needed to hook up, but they told me tough luck.  You’re on your own with the other 2.  Not terribly impressed with the customer service, but at least they sent me a nest power connector for free.
