Nest Thermostat with W5 error

I have a nest thermostat with wifi connection issue.  Presents W5 error.  Have tried all steps recommended for resolution with no success.  I performed a complete reset of device  and now posts a w15 which device is unable to connect thru wifi.  Found article online that indicates this is a known issue and that I may not be to resolve myself.

You are correct, it's a very well known problem, fried wifi chip is the normal.

You can try reset network a couple of times, but I think you will not get much satisfaction.

However what did Nest say when you rang them or contacted them?
