Is this the place to post photo for wiring compatibility check? Appreciate the guidance. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a basic heat pump system.

Put Red to R

Black to OB*

Blue to C

White to W

Yellow to Y

Green to G

Set it up as a heat pump with aux heat on W

No heat pump and no C wire.  That's the challenge. Does this require an electrician for C wiring? Or Could I get the nest without C wire?

Looks like a heat pump since you have a black wire in the O screw, and a blue wire in B screw.

I looked up the manual for that Ritetemp Tstat and they say O and B are for zoned dampers control, do you have dampers in the ductwork that change the flow to different zones in the house?

Or O and B could be for heat pumps but only one can be used either O or B so since you have wires in both I'm thinking you might have a zoned damper system.

What kind of heating system is this?

Nat gas with Air Cond?

Can you go to the furnace take the front cover off and see where the wires connect and see what the Black and Blue are connected to and post a pic. You will see the thermostat cable and row of screws similar to your old Tstat.

This is the old Tstat manual talks about the O and B wires.

(I thought the B was your common but I was wrong it is not. Trane calls B common is why I was confused).

Hello there,

Thanks for helping, @Houptee.

@sga1011, I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here. We'd like to know more about your system to ensure its compatibility with the Nest Thermostat. Could you please share with us a photo of your system's control board showing how the wires from your thermostat are labeled?

We'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark
