Hi there,
When I select a sensor other than the scheduled senor, the Nest app asks:
"Use this sensor for comfort sensing?
Your thermostat will use it until the next scheduled change"
I choose OK and the thermostat switches to that sensor, and begins heating/cooling per the selected temperature and the temperature at that sensor as it should. The problem is, less than 5 minutes later the Nest switches back to the previously scheduled sensor.
What do I need to do to make my thermostat use the temporary sensor until the next scheduled change?

I’m having the same problem. The only way I get comfort sensing to work (switching remote sensors off-schedule) is by doing it on the physical thermostat. Switching on the app does not work for me.

Hi Jake,
I’m well aware of how to use a different sensor, if you read my post carefully you’ll see I do that. But your article states:
“Note: When the next sensor is scheduled to be active, your thermostat and sensors will automatically switch out of manual mode and back to their set schedule.”
This is not accurate as the active sensor moves back to the scheduled one within 5 minutes without any intervention on my part.

Hi Jake, did you read my reply above? You can help me by telling me how I’m using the comfort setting wrong and how I can use it to keep the selected temperature sensor active until the next scheduled switch.

Thanks @long-tee for letting me know that switching on the thermostat itself works.

I too am having this issue. As @long-tee states, I can get the request to be honored on the thermostat itself, but not through the app. I wonder if there is a conflict between the Nest app and the Google Home app, since the Home app does not have the same feature to use the sensors as the primary device.
