Nest x Yale Lock Battery Replacement

The user instructions specify using "standard AA alkaline batteries" and NOT using "rechargeable NiMH batteries or other kinds of batteries."

Can anyone help me understand why?

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. Any AA Alkaline battery will do as long as it is not rechargeable. You can learn more here.

Best Regards,
Brad

@kiltedlifter

They are unreliable and tend to drain faster than standard AA Alkaline batteries. You need a stable energy source, hence non-rechargeable batteries.

Brad

Hi there,

Just checking in to see how the conversation is going as there's been a lapse in activity on this thread.

Best regard,

You didn't really answer my question. You just repeated what the user guide offers, which I acknowledged in my original post.

My question is WHY aren't rechargeable batteries acceptable to use.
