Actually, at least in my case, the fix is received when you turn the chromecast on.
I had them on for since yesterday and nothing. They both were updated AFTER I turned them off and on again.

Hello, I factory reset my chromecast then applied the date setting technique and it was reinstalled and it downloaded an update which took a few minutes, but it still won’t work, so do I have a problem or is the fix not released yet

I had the same experience when attempting this fix via android. Chromecast playback only worked after changing my date and time Settings back to auto again.

I factory reset mine before the fix but managed to set it up again by changing the date of my android phone to a date before the 9th of March. It still did not work right away but today all my Chromecast audios including that one started working again.

I did the same but it won't connect to the wifi.

Thanks for posting this - I had done a factory reset as well so when I changed the date it did the update it is now working fine after I changed the date back. 👍👍

I did the same - did the factory reset before I saw the issue. Changing ghe date worked for me, once connected to wifi the update downloads and now it works. Thank you.

This worked for me too. I also went through the factory reset. Reset the date of my tablet, connected it on wifi, kept the chromecast online all night and now it is working again.

I did the same thing but can't find the hack. Do I just change the date on my phone to March 9 and it will update my cc?

Set you phone date back to before the problem occurred, I used March 5th, you can then re join your Chromecast to your network, then leave it for an hour or so and the patch should download, don’t forget to set your phone date back to auto.

Thank you!! It worked!!

Thanks so much!!

No you are not.

On your phone, the one that connects to the chromecast, change the date to march 8th. If you do that, you will be able to configure the device. After that, just wait a couple of hours and it will start working again.

I had factory resected my device and that was what I did and now it's working perfectly.

Wonderful !! date change - perfectly worked, it also took the updated when configuring... thank you

Na mosca kkkkk deu certo podem fazer rapidinho já conecta!

meu deus funcionou, finalmente vou ser feliz novamente! 🙏🏼 tenho dependencia emocional no chromecast OBRIGADA AMIGO

You can set up the Chromecast again by setting your phone date back to 5th march, complete the set up to make it active, and then correct your phone date once done. The Chromecast is at least active to accept the update. It's worked for me so hope it helps someone else too.

It worked for me, thanks!!

Mine was factory reset and I couldn’t get it set up again, but changing the iPhone’s date to March 5th and starting the setup from scratch, allowed me to configure the Chromecast, and it connected and downloaded the latest firmware and I’m back in business!

Io ho fatto lo stesso con il mio S23 android ed è ok

Che significa? Cosa dovrei fare? Cambiare data sul mio cellulare?

Beato te, woooooooow, ma dammi una dritta.......

  • Show friend, it worked very well. After resetting the date to 03/05/2025, we were able to configure it and get updates in CHROMECAST and IT WORKED. With the date changed, it didn't identify what you said CHROMECAST did. But when I returned to today's date, it connected to Netflix. CONGRATULATIONS to you, Google is a piece of crap.
  • YOU SHOULD FIND THIS IDEA FROM YOUR FRIEND, Valweebo, top.

Awesome my dude, it solved the issue, my chromecast is now working again 👌

This is wild. I have a Samsung and followed your recommendation. My Chromecast was already factory reset. I was able to reinstall it and am able to cast again. Thank you!

Das nicht gut

How do you change iPhone date back??

Worked perfectly!

Worked for me as well.

You rock!
