Nest protect won’t connect to wifi in set up

I purchased a house with nest protect and thermostat. The thermostat has connected but when I try to connect and add the protect I get to the stage with the blue light and I get an error on the app when it try’s to connect to the wifi. The error code is p004. The wifi is working for everything else in the house. Any ideas???

Try these steps:
Can’t connect Nest Protect to the app or Wi-Fi - Google Nest Help

If that doesn't help, I'd recommend removing the thermostat from the app, and setting up Nest Protect first. Once setup, add the thermostat back to the app.

Press and hold the button for 10 secs until you hear the version #, release the button. Then, try to add it on the app.
