Linking thermostat to new phone

Jli22

I successfully installed and connected my nest thermostat to my previous iPhone. This broke and I have a new iPhone. I therefore needed to to connect it to the nest thermostat to the new phone after I installed the app. I followed the steps in the app instructions to add a product that was already installed but rather than displaying the entry key in settings on the thermostat it simply displayed “already connected”. I can not see any info on how to progress beyond this dead end. Can anyone please help?!

Thanks very much for your prompt response CW. Re reinstalled the app and as you suggested that all worked without re pairing. Much appreciated and thanks Jh and Mark for following up also. John.

When you got your new phone, you should’ve only just downloaded the Nest app, signed in with the same user email ID and password and everything should’ve been there. You should not have had to reinstall a device unless you used a different user ID and password. The nest app is not keyed to the phone serial number or anything like that. It’s linked to a user ID and password.

Hello Jli22,

Awesome! I'm glad to hear that your issue is fixed. We can probably consider this one finished, so I'll close the thread in 24 hours unless I can help with anything else.
