Thermostat no longer available from different router

Nest thermostat more than 30 days offline. I have no direct access to my home internet or thermostat - out of country. How do I regain access to remote control of my thermostat (no one home who can do this)? Thanks!

If the router and thus the WiFi SSID has changed in the home the nest thermostat is in, You will need to go to the nest thermostat and reconfigure the Network Settings in order to get the Nest thermostat back online.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I feel that I did not provide sufficient detail. I am working from a router in a different country from the location of the thermostat. I need to be able to control it, but the 30 day limit has expired since I last used the remote control of the system.

It does not matter what location you are at with the Nest app as long as it has access to the Internet. If you cannot access the remote thermostat because it is not connected to a local area network where it’s located at. The nest must be connected to a Wi-Fi net work in order to reach it from a remote location no matter where you’re at and that’s where your problem is at the other end where the nest is located at. If on the other hand, the country you have is filtering traffic, and won’t let the nest signal. go out of your location that’s a different type problem.

Hi Mel. Unfortunately, I believe that the thermostat is off-line at the point of origin. I will likely have to wait until someone can physically get it back on-line so I can have access to the thermostat. Thanks all.

No problem. Thank you. I have replied to you and others at Google directly, from your email. It did not work. I solved the problem by asking someone to login in to the modem at the location of the thermostat. It worked. I now have access to the thermostat via remote. Thanks
