Nest thermostat is offline - Google Nest Help
In the Wi-Fi settings you're saying it shows as connected to Wi-Fi?

Same with my thermostat. Show connected but not in the app. Just a blank page.

This thread (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Camera-Offline/td-p/728369) has the post below. I don't know why this is not reflected on the Nest Status page:
We're aware of an ongoing Google Nest outage that started on July 18, 2025, at 7:06 AM Pacific Time. During this outage, you might experience issues such as your Google Nest devices appearing offline in your Google Home app or Nest app. This means you might not be able to view live feeds, access recordings, or control certain features of your cameras, doorbells, or other Nest devices. Please be assured that our engineering team is fully aware of this issue and is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

David,
Thanks for this information. Do you know if this started any time before July 18? For me this problem started earlier in the week. I received my Nest 4th generation thermostat on July 13. It was working fine until about July 15. When I go to the Google Home app and click on the device, the screen is completely blank. I cannot do anything with the device, including removing it.
I've done everything, reset the wifi, did a factory reset on the thermostat, deleted and re-downloaded Google Home app, checking power, everything that is recommended online. The therostat itself says that the wifi connection is strong, the power is good (3.9 v), is connected to the Nest server, etc. So, the thermostat itself seems to be working fine. It just won't connect to Google Home.
Is this stemming from the same issue you outlined above?

For what I'm reading across the community, I'd say it's likely related yes but I can't say for sure.

Same issue. After talking with Google tech support today, I was told it was a “known” issue and that it is not a problem with my TStat or WiFi. It’s a Google Home server issue and will hopefully be resolved in the next 48 hours. It’s already been two or three days and I’ve wasted time doing a factory reset and all kinds of troubleshooting until I found this out. I’ve also discovered that the schedule that I built in Google Home is no longer available until this is resolved. The Gen 4 Nest apparently does NOT allow TStat access / modification to the schedule???? So I’m back to a manual set point until Google Home server is fixed? That’s insane!
I have three other zones in my home with Gen 3 stats. I was shocked to find out that the Nest Gen 4 doesn’t work with the very reliable Nest app - only Google Home!!!! Who made THAT decision? I reluctantly accepted this but now the app isn’t working and I can’t access my schedule?!

Thanks. I got ahold of customer support and they confirmed it's a Google Home issue. I just bought the thermostat to replace my Gen 1 after getting notification that they will no longer support certain older models. I wish I would have done my homework because I'm not happy at all with the Google Home app. It is a step back from the Nest app. Further, my Nest Protect smoke detectors expired and they are no longer making them. Now I have a defunct home system with hardward from different companies on different apps.

Agreed. Google Home app sucks at least for TStats. Since I have 4 zones, I’m going back to Gen 3 on this 4th stat so that they are all Gen 3 and all use the Nest app. Somewhere else on this forum I saw that Gen 3 is still considered their flagship with Gen 4 deliberately stripping features to compete with other brands.
