Nest thermostat doing well until I get new gateway doesn’t want to work with it. Any suggestions??

David the nest thermostat is frozen cannot communicate . I unplugged it overnight took batteries out overnight . Still locked!! What can I do ?? thanks

Frozen Will not respond.
Are you following these steps? Are there any errors in the app or does it just not connect? If that's the case, try the steps in this troubleshooter.
Does it respond if you press the screen, or does it just not respond at all?
In that case, try these steps which should get it to respond again, although you did say you already took the batteries out and left it overnight?
