Nest Yalelock

For the Nest Yalelock, will the lock automatically unlock when you walk up to the door with your phone near or lock when you leave and forget to lock it if the app is on your phone? Does it matter if the app is open or not?

Can’t log in to Nest app using “sign in with Google”
