Two different apps - Nest & Google Home

Why are there still two different apps, after all this time of Nest being under the Google umbrella. I am frustrated that I still need to have the two, especially as my old nest thermostats only seem to really listen to the Nest app and my new Google...

Nest Cam with Floodlight

If the Google Nest Cam/Floodlight is turned on using the Google Home app, does the light stay on until I turn it off? I was told it will only stay on for 10 seconds to 5 minutes (depending on the setting) and will shut off when no motion is detected....

Unable to access account due to 2 step code is send to old number

I changed my number in my google account and even contacted Nest to change my number there. My nest app is still sending the 2 step code to my old number and I still can't log into my nest account. I can't log in with Nest or Google. Please help
