Resolved! Couldn't verify voice on nest protect

One of my nests keeps giving me the error "couldnt verify voice" no matter what I try. I have done a safety check-up 3 times and a factory reset but the problem persists. How can I go about correcting the issue?

2022 US Compliance - UL 217v8

Does anyone know if the current Gen 2 model is compliant with UL 217v8, the new US code for smoke detectors? A Wirecutter review from January mentioned that Nest will be making an update this year to ensure compliance with this new code.
