Nest doorbell, wired setup.

My existing wired doorbell uses a 15 VA transformer, so I assume it's not strong enough for the Nest Doorbell wired setup. Using the optional power adaptor looks complicated. Can I simply replace the 15 VA transformer with, e.g., a 20 VA transformer?
