1st gen wifi need to be factory re-set what app?

Hi, I have a google 1st gen wifi and want to do a factory re-set. Can I use my google wifi app or do I need to use google home app. home app? Is there a video on how to do this, if I need to use the newer google home app? Thank You, Gary
