Rewinding with voice command changes volume on chromecast

Whenever I use voice commands with my google home mini to rewind or fast forward the chromecast built into my Vizio Tv, it changes the volume on the tv. CEC is enabled. Audio for the tv is sent to a stereo with red and white component cables.
