Google TV Streamer - HDMI 2.1 flashing screen with LG G2

if I use a HDMI 2.1 cable with the new Google TV Streamer. I will have a constant blinking screen. The screen will flash blank over and over, multiple ports and cables tried.Normal HDMI cable works fine.
