Heating schedule

How does anyone set a schedule for heating ?! If you add for example 20 degrees at 7 am does it mean it will start heating earlier until it reaches that level? And when it reaches it why does it not go off ?!very confusing , please help !!

Nest thermostat locking tabs broken

I have a new (3 months old) thermostat that one of the white locking tabs broke off, thus not creating a solid connecting and rendering the thermostat useless. Is there anyway to replace this back plate?
