Reset True Radiant to learning mode

How can I put back the True Radiant feature to learning mode? I have tried with a full hard reset but it did not work: it Always says On Ready.I have set home to be at 20 degree at 8am but this morning heating was on yet temp was 19.5.

Remove nest from wall

I installed a Nest Thermostat and Nest Trim Kit and now want to remove it to paint. Do I need to unhook the wires? Do I need to turn off the HVAC power? Other board posts and responses are unclear.
