Temperature sensor setting doesn’t save

If I manually choose to use a sensor instead of the thermostat to set the temperature, it will reset back to using the thermostat within about 5 minutes. I use the sensor schedules which set the sensor setting just fine but I can’t do it manually.

Resolved! Nest thermostat does not turn on compressor

Hi, I'm having trouble getting the cooling to work, the fan turns on but the air isn't cold. The old thermostat works just fine. I tried setting the nest to the heat pump in case that might work but it does not.note: there is an unused brown wire
