settting temperatures on my Nest

Guys, when i set my thermostat to 17 degrees, I still find that the thermostat sets itself to 20 degrees.Also I cannot set a minimum temperature below 9.5 degrees.Why?Thanks, pvp

Nest thermostat not cooling properly

I have a trane heat pump. There is a black wire connected to the X2 terminal on the original Trane thermostat. The install does not have a X2 option. Is X2 compatible with another letter I could substitute?
