Nest Thermastat 4th Gen - Manually Change Temp

We have a Nest 4th Gen in our rental property and can adjust the temp remotely but our guest cannot change it in the house. Are you able to adjust the temp at the thermostat once it is controlled remotely or is it one way or the other?
